French Blue Inspired Styled Shoot

Styled shoots! What can I say? There are a lot out there and more happening every day. But, I've never successfully done one before. I thought that it was time that I take one on! It's a great way to make new friends, create some art, get your name out there, get to know your industry better, and more. The story behind this shoot is nothing spectacular, it was just a way for me to create art with my new friends and get to know more people. I went with a soft blue, film theme because that has me written all over it! Luckily, I found some great vendors that loved the theme too. It was really great to come together with these fantastic people and get their ideas and their take on the theme. I love being able to get the images that will really represent their brands, too. I actually rented a Contax 645 film camera to take photos during this shoot, can you pick them out below? A little secret, I LOVE FILM! It's so gorgeous. It was great to work on this shoot and be able to create photographs, florals, and stationery! Another little secret, I dabble in floral design! My mother is an amazing artist and I learned it all from her. She's been in the floral business for awhile and I was lucky enough to work with her for a few years. So any chance I get to design I take it! I was really excited to design this bouquet. I used some gorgeous ranunculus that created the most beautiful ombre color. We were going with the soft pinks to compliment our french blue and loved the results. It's nice to be able to do things for fun and get the creative juices flowing. I'm sure the other vendors felt the same. Enough about me...let's talk about these amazing vendors that helped on this shoot!

The cake was DELICIOUS, I HIGHLY recommend Little Blackbird Bakery for your wedding cake needs. You want something that looks pretty AND tastes delicious! Whitney is your gal. Cherry Chiles is amazing. Such a talented photographer and after this shoot a master at organizing detail shots ;). Melissa from Weddings by Design and The Tux Shop is amazing to work with. Not only is she fun but she gets you in your dream wedding attire! It's fun to watch her have brides try dresses on and know exactly which dress brings the bride to life! Jess Olson did STUNNING work with hair and makeup. Our beautiful model, Alexandria, had pretty short hair to work with and Jess did something so unique and lovely with it! I absolutely loved how she made Alexandria look! Ashley comes in and just styles up my table like it's nothing! She is great at making things look cohesive and beautiful.

Last but not least, the stars of the show! Alexandria and her husband Ian just got married (for real) last summer. They are just so dang happy when they are in each other's arms. I am so glad that we got a chance to photograph that love. I knew I wanted Alexandria as my bride model because she's stunning! She knows how to be in front of the camera, too. Alex, I think you should consider modeling! You'd rock at it! PLUS she is the sweetest person I've ever met and an amazing artist. She's a super talented photographer, videographer and all around crafty babe. So I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. Thank you all for participating and I hope you all enjoy this shoot! Who's ready to do it again?! :)
