Witch Inspired Wedding / Iowa Wedding Photographer

You’ve been waiting and here it is! First up is our crystal inspired wedding. If you’ve been following along you’ve met our amazing vendors involved with this shoot! Let’s do a quick recap of all of our vendors.

Coordinator & Baker: Whitney Leighton with Little Blackbird Bakery! She is a baker by day and wedding visionary by night. Whitney comes up with awesome ideas to style weddings and MAKES them happen! She has amazing talent and a passion for the Des Moines wedding scene. Be sure to check her out for all of your baking or wedding needs!

Photographer: Paige Kleckner photographed these shoots alongside me and I’m so glad she did! We work with each other all the time and bounce ideas off of each other so well. She has such a creative vision for the little things. Details are Paige’s favorite and she rocks at it. Be sure to check out her blog post filled with all of her amazing images!

Florist: Katie with August Wolf Floral is an amazing floral designer! As you can see from this shoot, she took our vision and brought it to life! I love how she has a unique style. She even provided us with mood boards. She was a great match for these shoots and this team! If you’re needing florals for your big day please check out her work.

Makeup & Hair: Our makeup artist and hair artist was Kati with Blush. For this shoot she had her associate Nicole help out! How perfect is this dark and moody look on April! The crimped hair? It’s coming back and it looked perfect for this shoot!

Rentals: Annie with Pella Rentals worked with us on these shoots. Her inventory was awesome! I never really expected to have everything you see on Pinterest or in your head, but Annie had it! All of her accents and decor were perfect for our look. If you have an upcoming wedding be sure to chat with Pella Rentals for all of your decor!

Wedding Dress & Tux: Melissa and Robin from Weddings by Design and The Tux Shop provided us with this MAGICAL dark witch wedding dress! How perfect is April in this dress? She looked stunning! This dress gave us all of the dark witch vibes and it had the perfect for our forest setting. We actually took one of Melissa’s sale dresses and dyed it black/grey! Just a little something unique for any brides looking for out of the ordinary dresses! And we can’t forget how handsome Wes looked! He looked dashing in his all black suit with that black foral tie, so good! If you’re looking for bride or groom apparel for your big day be sure to check out Melissa’s shop!

Apothecary: Heather from KIN provided us with all of our spiritual accents. The crystals, the skulls, the sage, all of those details came from KIN. KIN is a super cute shop down in the East Village of Des Moines. She carries everything from Tarot cards to crystals, anything you need for your spiritual side. This shoot would not have been complete without her ideas and inventory! The jewelry also came from Heather, she loves her vintage jewelry! Be sure to stop in her shop and support her business!

Stationery/Photography: Quick plug about me! I am a graphic designer and photographer! So any chance I get to do both is awesome for me. So I provided the stationery for both of these shoots! It was so much fun! Be sure to browse my social media and portfolio to see my stationery projects.
